Ministries At All Saints' we have several ministries for people to get involved with: Episcopal Church WomenAll Saints' Episcopal Church Women, or ECW, is an active organization in which all women 16 years or older are automatically members. We meet quarterly to plan our activities for the year where we offer spiritual growth and worship, service, study, and fellowship. The ECW sponsors many outreach and inreach programs. We support our Diocesan programs that are community, national, and world, ie, sewing supplies and fabrics go to our mission in Cange, Haiti. Our community projects change from year to year, some of which are the school supplies program and Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands. Our inreach support goes to our VBS, youth group, Graduate's Reception, and many more. Our two fundraisers are the Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale and the Spring Yard Sale. These projects enable us to continue to provide services for our ministries. Christian Education for AdultsAdult classes are taught all year by Dr. theol. Georg Retzlaff. His class times are Tuesday 11:00 a.m. until 12:10 p.m., Wednesday evenings 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 .p.m. and regular sunday class hours for all classes 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. A nursery is provided for children 5 years and under. Christian Education for YouthAll Saints' Sunday classes begin in August until the end of May. We also have light summer classes for the children. The students are taught by qualified members of the Episcopal faith. Sunday School begins promptly at 9:15 am with classes available for K4-Grade3, Grades 4-7, and Grades 8-12. Beginning on 17 August 2008, Christian Education is pleased to present a new curriculum designed just for our youth at All Saints'. This new and innovative program is only available at All Saints' Church. The three year cycle curriculum will provide the youth of our church opportunities to explore the Episcopal faith. The first year (2008-2009) students will explore the Beatitudes: the teaching and ministry of Jesus. The second year students will explore the Bible: the structure and content, with emphasis on the Christian Bible. During the third year students will explore the Book of Common Prayer: the liturgy, history, and polity of the Episcopal Church. During each exploration, students will be presented information through monthly themes. Students will learn by using innovative materials, music, crafts, discussions and direct instruction by knowledgeable and caring teachers. EYCEYC is a time for young people to get together for fellowship, worship and food. Junior and Senior High youth will meet every Sunday from 3-5 pm with a light snack and a music program with the music director, Mrs. Judy, from 5-6pm. St. Andrew's Men's GroupThe mens group at All Saints' meets monthly on the evening of the third Monday for fellowship and to consider the needs of the parish. We take on special projects as needed. Annual scheduled activities include entering a float in the West Metro Christmas parade the first Saturday in December, the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, and the last supper of VBS. Men of any age and condition are welcome to join in. St. Theresa's GuildThe "Biscuit Bunch" meets the second Monday of the month at 7pm in the church kitchen. We pray and lift up people in the church, community and world. We spend time sharing with each other about our day to day trials in our lives. The Biscuit Bunch is involved with the Easter Egg Hunt we have every year and also cooking some meals during Vacation Bible School. St. Mary's GuildSt. Mary's Guild is a group of women who meet together for a cover dish supper the first Monday of each month at 7pm in the parish hall. We've been a part of All Saints' for over 30 years! We fellowship, study, have food and fun! Important aspects of our group are the studies that we do together. We welcome any women visitors who'd love to come have fun and learn more about God with us. We also like contributing to the community. We have a Christmas project that we choose each year, the Woodyard Fund in the winter, and any other causes that come our way. Music MinistriesThe music ministry at All Saints' offers an opportunity for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or previous music experience.
All of the choirs are open to anyone with a tuneful voice and a desire to learn. The music at All Saints' centers around traditional church music, with a variety of styles from chant to classical, to contemporary. |
